Minda Stage 2 & 3 Redevelopment
Mixed-Use development comprising two separate multi-story retirement living residential buildings over a secure basement carpark, new housing stock and improved support facilities for the Minda residents and general site improvements.
This Mixed-Use Development comprised two separate multi-story retirement living residential buildings over a secure basement carpark for sale, new housing stock and improved support facilities for the Minda residents and general site improvements.
A total of 70 luxury apartments were constructed in a seven and five level building as Stage 2 of the Brighton Dunes development. The sale of these seaside apartments funded two x 3 storey residential buildings with 30 supported living apartments for the Minda Residents.
A total of 18 independent living houses around the perimeter of the site facing the bounding streets and major infrastructure upgrades were also provided as part of this project.
The first stage of a Lifestyle Precinct which included 4 pavilion style buildings facing a new landscaped boulevard was also provided. This precinct accommodated a number of facilities which were distributed in buildings in a random manner around the site that were not fit for purpose.
The conversion of an old Laundry into a seaside Café which faced the seaside walk being delivered by the local Council and comprehensive landscape of the campus grounds completed this complex redevelopment of the site.
All of the work was undertaken around the functioning site with no significant impact on the operations of staff or residents.
Incorporation of environmental initiatives formed an integral part of the design philosophy.
A combination of robust and durable materials which could withstand the windy and corrosive seaside site location were selected for this project. This project received an award for design excellence in the National Retirement Living Awards.
