Illumident located in Mt Gambier is an elegantly designed dental clinic seeking to redefine the average dental experience by breaking away from the conventional clinical environment and embracing the classic style of the heritage listed building and the surrounding area.

The design approach carefully balances the preservation of the building’s historic character with the demands of a contemporary dental practice, resulting in a clinic that feels both timeless and modern.

The reception area showcases the building’s original architectural features through elegant archways, detailed mouldings, and high ceilings. Herringbone timber flooring runs throughout the public zones, adding warmth and texture while referencing the building’s classic origins.

The waiting area is purposefully calm and airy, with sculptural timber seating positioned along large original windows to maximise natural light and connection to the street frontage. Duck egg blue accents subtly introduce colour and brand identity without detracting from the heritage detailing

 and the bright white gives a modern-fresh take on the classic style while still giving a clinical edge.
