FMC Neonatal Unit
The Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) Neonatal Unit Redevelopment project delivered 50 cots with a significant increase in the number of isolation rooms to better manage the risk of infection.
The redevelopment and expansion of the existing Neonatal Unit was achieved by repurposing adjoining areas previously occupied by the Department of Anaesthesia, including laboratories, simulation facilities, and offices. The new unit is designed to align with contemporary models of care, supporting both baby-centred and family-centred approaches. The upgrade also included vital plant and infrastructure works, ensuring sufficient capacity and service redundancy to support the redeveloped areas effectively.
