FMC Theatre Suite Expansion

This significant expansion to the main operating theatre suite at Flinders Medical Centre comprised two new 60m2 ORs configured for multi-specialty surgery, including provisions for use of laser and medical imaging equipment. The project embodied roll-out of next generation integrated theatre hardware and IT systems including creation of new central equipment hubs that will serve as the backbone for retrospective upgrades of existing ORs. The new ORs and associated pre-operative and scrub facilities were designed to enable full construction within a contained zone with dedicated access to ensure operation of existing theatres was completely unaffected. Full delivery including design, construction and commissioning was an incredibly short 20 weeks.
